The Port of Longyearbyen is the logistic point for cargo to the different settlements on Spitsbergen and the cruise industry. The port is located close to the city centre and Longyearbyen airport with regular flights to Tromsø and Oslo.

Drilling in the Adventfjorden
This week the research foundation SINTEF, together with Port of Longyearbyen, conducted drilling in the sea between the Bykaia and the Old Quay.
The findings will be used for the future planning of a large new floating pier.
Russian trawler towed to Longyear
The Russian trawler Kapitan Gromtsev was towed to Port of Longyear late Thursday night by the Norwegian Coast Guard vessel KV Sortland. The ship had problems with the propeller on Wednesday night in the Bellsund area and KV Sortland was sent north to assist the trawler
